The WEPAN Knowledge Center (WKC) provides a publicly accessible tool for accessing information related to women in engineering and a professional networking platform for registered users. The goal of the WKC is to increase the number, scope, and effectiveness of initiatives to recruit, retain, and advance women in engineering. Excellent research on women in engineering exists. Unfortunately, publications are scattered across many journals and numerous disciplines, making it difficult for faculty, administrators and leaders to put research into practice. WEPAN's Knowledge Center offers in one place: Access to cataloged and fully cited information resources including research reports, data and statistics, agenda papers, bibliographies, best practices, key programs, and more. - Direct access to resources housed in the Knowledge Center
- Links to resources housed on other sites
- Advanced search capabilities
- Easy uploading procedures for additional resources you contribute
An online Professional Community for networking, collaborating, identifying subject matter experts, and sharing information. - Build and maintain your own profile
- Join or establish professional interest groups
- Monitor and post calendar events
- Communicate via blogs, discussion boards, online chat, or e-mail messages
Special online events. - Panel discussions and interviews with subject matter experts
- Webcasts and Webinars
The WEPAN Knowledge Center is easy to use. - We want to make the resources visible and accessible!
- Anyone can browse the resources—no log in is required
- One resource will appear in numerous searches because of the multi-faceted keyword system
- A simple log in and password allows entry to the professional community
- WKC welcomes formation of professional interest groups related to women in engineering—anyone can set up a public or private group
Development of the WEPAN Knowledge Center was funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (National Science Foundation Engineering Education and Centers Grant #0648210) and support from corporate sponsors. |
